VANRATH are seeking a highly motivated and analytically driven Investment Analyst to join a high profile growing investment team. The successful candidate will work closely with senior analysts and portfolio managers to support investment decisions and strategic initiatives. You will play an integral role in financial modelling, data analysis, and presenting clear, actionable insights that will inform key investment strategies.

What you will have:

  • Financial Modelling & Analysis: Build and maintain financial models to evaluate potential investments and assess company valuations. Conduct financial analysis of businesses, including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis. Assist in creating detailed investment memos and reports to present findings to senior team members.
  • Advanced Excel Usage: Utilise advanced Excel skills to analyse large datasets, create dynamic models, and prepare comprehensive reports. Develop and enhance automated tools and reports for tracking investment performance and financial trends.
  • Commercial Acumen: Apply commercial insight and market knowledge to assess the economic environment, industry trends, and company fundamentals. Provide actionable recommendations based on financial analysis to identify profitable investment opportunities.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate complex financial concepts and investment strategies to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Prepare and deliver clear, concise presentations that highlight key investment findings and recommendations. Collaborate with senior analysts to ensure that all investment decisions are aligned with the team's overall strategic goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong proficiency in advanced Excel (VBA, complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Demonstrable experience or strong understanding of financial modelling techniques and valuation methodologies.
  • Ability to think critically and commercially with a keen eye for market trends and business performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
  • A proactive, self-starter who works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior internship or work experience in investment analysis or financial services.
  • Experience with other financial tools/software (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar platforms).
