Expert Construction are working with a prominent Building & Civil Engineering Contractor in Derry / L'Derry to recruit a HSE Advisor. This role will be based in the Head Office but will involve travel to sites in Donegal and Galway. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years experience and be NEBOSH qualified.

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the HSEQ Manager in maintaining the Integrated Management System.
  • Assist the HSEQ Manager in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Manage the engagement of sub-contractors, ensuring insurances and training are up to date.
  • Carry out inductions for new employees and site staff.
  • Conduct onsite inspections and audits - report findings and liaise with the HSEQ Manager to rectify issues.
  • Support the site teams with all aspects of HSE requirements.
  • Assist the HSEQ Manager in conducting incident, accident and near miss reporting - including forwarding reports to HSE/HSA as appropriate.
  • Attend site coordination meetings.
  • Create and develop HSE documentation - CPHSP, ERP, TMP, RAMS, COSHH Assessments, TBTs, Permits, etc.
  • Maintain records - Plant Maintenance, LOLER, PUWER, Training, etc.

Experience required:

  • NEBOSH Qualified necessary.
  • A Construction related qualification desirable.
  • Previous Construction Contractor experience is desirable.
  • Direct experience of working on site or supporting project related Health & Safety.
  • Commercial Awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills and be an analytical problem solver.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Full Driving Licence.
