Granton Primary and Nursery is a school in an area of multi-deprivation. Granton Primary Early Learning and Childcare serves the North West area of Edinburgh. It is a busy and vibrant environment where staff work closely with families and our local community. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Early Years Officer to join our hard-working, supportive team of staff.

The setting has capacity for 110 children, comprising of 30 (aged 2) and 80 (aged 3-5) at any time. The setting has two larger (3-5) playrooms on either side and two smaller playrooms, for our terrific twos. There are two gardens either side which are shared by all age groups.

You should demonstrate a commitment to:

  • providing the highest quality experiences for children in our setting
  • leading areas for development and supporting others in the team
  • using self-evaluation to inform improvement
  • building and maintaining positive relationships with learners, families, and staff
  • planning to meet the needs of all learners
  • working collaboratively with other agencies and wider partners

This opportunity would suit an experienced EYO ready for their next challenge and step in their career. This position is a full year 52-week post, with working hours between 8am-6pm on a rota basis.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
