Job summary:

Reporting to the Tourism Events Manager, the post holder will assist in the operational delivery of Council's objectives and support the local economy through the development, marketing and delivery of a range of events throughout the Borough. Seek opportunities for innovative events that have a strong appeal, producing benefits for the local economy, reflecting the landscape and character of the area, and create a vibrant and entertaining experience for the citizens and visitors to the area. Promote the area to inbound event organisers as a place that can host major events, ensuring impact and legacy are delivered on an ongoing basis.

The post holder will support the Tourism Events Manager and the Tourism Events Coordinator in the development of an events portfolio that creates a balanced mixture of successful existing and new innovative events that meets the market demand. Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements. Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.
