The position of Class 1 Day Driver involves:

  • Collecting and delivering customers' products on a curtain sided or flatbed trailer, which will include a great deal of load security using ratchet straps.
  • Using a handheld PDA to complete paperwork.
  • Planning route on a day to day basis.
  • Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing our customers' expectations.
  • Attending regular training sessions.

Essential skills required for Class 1 Day Driver:

  • Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Driving Licence.
  • Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • ADR licence is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in flatbed steel and pipe works is preferred.
  • Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
  • Working to deadlines.
  • Confident, polite and a team player.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.
