The position of Class 1 Day Driver involves:
- Collecting and delivering customers' products on a curtain sided or flatbed trailer, which will include a great deal of load security using ratchet straps.
- Using a handheld PDA to complete paperwork.
- Planning route on a day to day basis.
- Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing our customers' expectations.
- Attending regular training sessions.
Essential skills required for Class 1 Day Driver:
- Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Driving Licence.
- Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- ADR licence is preferred but not essential.
- Experience in flatbed steel and pipe works is preferred.
- Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Working to deadlines.
- Confident, polite and a team player.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.
