Description: The key responsibilities of the Cost Accountant include:

  • Tracking and analysing production costs, including materials, labour, and overheads.
  • Assisting in preparing cost budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Comparing actual costs to budgeted costs and investigating discrepancies.
  • Assessing stock levels and ensuring accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Calculating the cost of manufacturing products to determine pricing and profitability.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving operational efficiency.
  • Preparing cost reports for management to support decision-making.
  • Ensuring adherence to cost accounting standards and financial regulations.

Profile: The successful Cost Accountant will have:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Suitably qualified by experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and variance analysis.
