We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive B2B Merchandiser to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on competition shopping, range planning, analysis, and category management to ensure our product offerings are competitive and aligned with market trends. This role requires excellent analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This role is hybrid working, with the company offices based in Silverstone, Northamptonshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Competition Shopping: Conduct regular market research on competitor businesses to monitor their activities, pricing strategies, and product assortments. Analyse competitor promotions, sales events, and new product launches to identify opportunities and threats. Compile and present detailed reports on competitor insights and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Range Planning: Develop and implement range plans that align with the company's overall product category strategy. Collaborate with the procurement team to select and source products that meet client needs and preferences. Ensure a balanced and cohesive product assortment across categories, considering factors such as seasonality, trends, and sales performance.
- Analysis: Analyse sales data, client feedback, and market trends to evaluate the performance of product ranges. Identify underperforming products and recommend actions to optimise inventory levels and improve sales. Prepare regular reports and presentations on range performance, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations.
- Category Management: Develop and execute category management strategies to maximise sales and profitability. Conduct category reviews to assess performance and identify growth opportunities. Work with suppliers to negotiate terms, improve product offerings, and enhance category performance. Implement planograms and merchandising guidelines to ensure optimal product placement and presentation.
