Bidwells are looking for a Head of Compliance to play a key role in ensuring our real estate services meet the highest quality standards, comply with RICS regulations, and effectively manage risks. This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to drive quality, compliance, and risk management within a forward-thinking and growing real estate consultancy.

Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all property services activities comply with RICS, HMRC, and other relevant regulations. Monitor regulatory changes and update company policies and procedures accordingly. Conduct assessments and develop strategies to mitigate compliance risks. Support the creation and maintenance of effective policies and procedures. Lead compliance communications and training at all levels.
- Quality Management: Develop and implement firm-wide Quality Management Systems (QMS). Lead and execute internal and external audit plans, including ISO 9001, 45001, 14001, and 27001 audits. Provide audit summaries and high-level reports to senior boards. Support the business in addressing non-conformance issues and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational and regulatory risks related to property service activities. Lead the compliance and quality management function, overseeing a structured program of work. Work alongside the Responsible Principal to manage relationships with regulatory bodies such as RICS and HMRC. Own and manage the firm-wide risk register, presenting to the Audit and Risk Management Committee. Ensure staff are trained in risk management practices.
- Essential: Experience in property services, including RICS and HMRC compliance. Extensive experience in quality assurance, compliance, and risk management. Lead Auditor professional qualification. Relevant degree in a related field. Strong background in compliance, internal control, or risk/governance. Passion for building and implementing a risk management function.
- Desired: Associate or Chartered membership of RICS. Certifications in Anti-Money Laundering, Internal Investigations, or Financial Services Regulation. Experience with GDPR, general insurance, and UK sanctions regimes.
