Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Support Project Engineer to join our team on a contract term ranging from 3 to 12 months ongoing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, managing IT projects, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of IT systems, troubleshooting skills, and project management capabilities. The primary focus of this position is to lead the transition from the current IT platform to a standalone platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Manage and implement IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Lead the transition from the current IT platform to a standalone platform.
- Configure, install, and maintain IT infrastructure such as servers, workstations, and networking devices.
- Collaborate with different teams to ensure seamless IT service delivery.
- Monitor system performance and security, implementing necessary improvements.
- Document IT support processes and maintain detailed records of IT assets and configurations.
- Train end-users and provide guidance on IT best practices.
- Liaise with vendors and service providers for procurement and maintenance of IT resources.
- Stay updated with the latest IT trends and technologies to improve efficiency and security.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in IT support and project management.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Experience with cloud services such as Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified.
Preferred Skills:
- French Speaking would be advantageous however this isn’t essential.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.
- Experience in managing enterprise applications.
Work Environment:
- On-site work but company has a Hybrid policy in place if requested.
- May require occasional travel.
- Availability for on-call support or after-hours maintenance when necessary.
