The Role
Mortgaging or remortgaging a property can be a daunting experience for first-time and experienced buyers alike, and getting the right deal is a crucial factor in putting buyersâ and homeownersâ minds at ease. Luckily for them, thatâs exactly where you will come in. From starter homes to investment properties, youâll be there on the end of the phone with the kind of advice that helps makes property dreams come true.
Youâll scope out the best mortgage options through listening to customersâ stories and circumstances, fully documenting these and coming up with a solution that both meets their needs and satisfies regulatory rules and standards as you go. Weâll arm you with all the info you need to help make the best decisions for our customers. Will they be best served by a fixed-term or variable mortgage? Do they need the option to overpay each month? What about fee free early exit? Youâll need to be clear and demonstrate L&C values, our passion for mortgages and why our customers were right to choose us.
Of course, there will be administrative work along the way but, above all, itâs about building that rapport and a real sense of trust that youâre going to do everything you can to deliver a compliant deal that really works for the customer.

L&C will be required to attest to your integrity, competence, and financial soundness on an initial and regular basis if youâre successful in your application and as a âCertification Regimeâ employee, your personal and professional details will be published in the FCAâs Directory which is accessible to the public. This can provide comfort to customers that they are dealing with a legitimate and monitored Adviser that belongs to a firm with a solid culture and ethics. You will also be personally subject to the 5 FCA Conduct Rules. You may already be aware of these but donât worry if not. If successful in securing an interview and role, a detailed explanation and training will be provided.

You may have some sales and product delivery skills already, with experience. Youâre going to need serious organising and prioritising skills to max-out on productivity and results without compromising on quality of care. So, youâll be dedicated to knowing the market and whatâs out there in order to build that confidence and deliver the best solutions.
