We're looking for a Commercial Disputes Lawyer to join our team in the Granite City.
The Role
This is a permanent role and the successful candidate will report directly to our litigation partners. While this position is based in Aberdeen, you'll have opportunities to travel to meet client needs.
We represent clients across diverse commercial sectors including energy, construction, engineering, property development, marine, agriculture, manufacturing, and IT. We also support individuals with partnership, property, and succession disputes. Though primarily Scotland-based, we regularly advise clients throughout the UK and worldwide.
You will also support the delivery of firm-wide training and seminars, as well as compliance, marketing, networking and business development initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
Chances are you'll have at least three years’ PQE in the litigation discipline, though we’d be keen to hear from candidates from other relevant commercial backgrounds — it’s about having the right people in the right roles.
You’ll be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in all aspects of conducting proceedings in the sheriff courts and Court of Session (excluding advocacy in the Court of Session)
- The ability to draft clearly and precisely, with the recipient in mind
- Confidence in managing multiple files autonomously
Growth Opportunities
Our team also handles non-contentious construction and contract review work as well as insolvency advice — areas you could develop a specialism in, if that’s of interest.
Why Ledingham Chalmers?
There are excellent prospects at Ledingham Chalmers for personal development, training, and progression in a supportive environment. Importantly too, this post comes with an attractive remuneration and holiday package as well as other bonuses subject to qualifying conditions.
Joining our team is a great opportunity to work alongside experienced and friendly professionals and become a valuable member of a thriving firm. Our growth plans depend on having the right team in place, and your contribution will be instrumental to our success.
