Reporting to the Rotating Equipment Team Leader, the post holder will be responsible for Rotating Equipment across the Kinneil Asset. This includes accountability for all aspects of Compressor and Gas Turbine long term maintenance including owning and delivering machinery specific intervention plans.
What does the day to day look like?
- Support delivery of safe and reliable operation of major Rotating Equipment across the South Assets.
- Accountable for delivery of plan and budget for applicable overhauls.
- Analyse equipment behaviour, perform and participate in bad actor elimination studies, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), incident investigations, audits, benchmark studies, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) studies.
- Interpret and act upon condition monitoring and basic care reading sheet data to maintain and improve availability.
- Provide input to remaining life determination and extension, obsolescence studies and asset life cycle strategies.
- Review and approve machinery build sheets and manage future upgrades.
- Development and implementation of improvement proposals in the area of asset and maintenance management (preventive maintenance), including design out.
- Define technical specifications for requisitions in the context of equipment modifications and replacements; (Statements of Requirements).
- Provide technical expertise to proposed changes under the Management of Change system.
- Providing technical support in trouble shooting and emergency situations.
- As a specialist, provide training and education to the Technician and Operator population.
- Proactively network external to Ineos FPS, keeping abreast of technology and benchmark data, in order to optimise the strategy and business processes for machinery within Ineos FPS.
- Contribute to the long term machinery plan (5+ years).
- Contribute to and be part of the delivery of the long term compressor budget (for set piece activity).
- Mentor team members and less experienced engineers and provide a suitable development path.
- Provide input to the non-conformance process relating to the major machinery.
- Support and oversee major machinery overhauls and upgrades as required.
- Carry out supplier performance management and be the key contract contact for applicable equipment.
- Own major supplier contracts for our critical machinery.
- Risk assessment and asset management relating to the safe operation of equipment.
- Commissioning and trouble-shooting machinery systems.
Minimum Requirements:
- Hold an engineering degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent subject.
- At least 10 years of technical experience in a technical role (discipline engineering, maintenance management) in the refining, petrochemical or utilities industries; experience in Rotating Machinery is a requirement.
- Conversant with relevant Industry Standards on rotating equipment - Gas Turbines, Centrifugal and, Reciprocating Compressors, API Pumps, Dry Gas and Mechanical Seals.
- Theoretical knowledge in the operating environment of the major machinery types - Centrifugal, Axial and Positive Displacement Compressors, Gas Turbines, Pumps and Support Systems.
- Experienced in the management of multi-disciplined engineering teams.
- Experienced in the coaching, influencing and development of professional engineers.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Will have an established machinery network external to site.
