Chronos Energy is looking to recruit an Energy Analyst for our client, an energy infrastructure developer and asset owner. The company is developing large scale Heat Networks as well as managing and improving large energy infrastructure assets. The Energy Analyst will be developing techno-economic models and analysing the existing portfolio of the client's energy assets. You will work closely with the engineering, operations, IT, and commercial teams to develop analytical tools to improve decision-making and enhance energy system efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Using Python to develop and implement techno-economic models for energy systems
  • Analyse large datasets to assess the performance and efficiency of energy infrastructure
  • Work with internal stakeholders to define modelling requirements and translate them into actionable insights
  • Support feasibility studies and investment decisions by providing quantitative analysis
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of energy models through continuous validation and improvement

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Energy Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (preferred)
  • Strong experience in energy system analysis, energy modelling, or techno-economic modelling
  • Experience using Python for modelling and data analysis (e.g. NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Pyomo, or similar libraries)
  • Experience with optimisation techniques, forecasting, and statistical modelling
  • Understanding of combustion processes, distributed energy resources (DERs), grid infrastructure, or renewable energy systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets
  • Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
