The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in driving the organisation’s continued growth and development. Working closely with the UK Finance Director, you will support the business in developing and improving standards across the industry. This role will incorporate a unique combination of month-end / year-end oversight and strategic project/change. You will form a crucial, growing part of the SLT and work closely alongside both operations and group finance functions.

We’re looking for an exceptional, qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred) who is ready to make an impact. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building strong relationships and communicating effectively, ideally within a fast-paced and changing environment. This role offers both breadth and autonomy, with opportunities to engage with stakeholders at all levels, both within and outside of the finance team. You’ll bring a proactive, innovative, and detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to deliver top-tier results, even under pressure and tight deadlines. Your passion for supporting non-financial stakeholders and helping them uncover the story behind the numbers will be key to your success.

As the Financial Controller, your key responsibilities will encompass the following:

  • Leading and developing a high-performing finance team (6 FTE) to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • Support on group-wide change/optimisation projects
  • Overseeing the preparation of management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards
  • Managing the weekly sales reporting process, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data
  • Taking charge of balance sheet controls, cash flow forecasting, and driving process improvement initiatives
  • Providing detailed financial analysis and management reports to support informed strategic decision-making
  • Leading external audits and coordinating the preparation of annual financial statements, while strengthening control processes and systems
  • Acting as a key business partner to senior operational leaders, providing valuable insights and support to help achieve organisational objectives
  • Ensuring timely and accurate execution of financial operations, including transactional processes and regulatory filings
  • Handling ad hoc project tasks, including system implementations and process optimisation

What the client offers:

  • Bonus opportunity of up to 10%
  • Location: Bristol (Central)
  • Excellent, collaborative culture with scope for individual growth
