Christ’s Hospital is looking for a versatile Chinese language assistant to support our teaching staff, academic staff, and pupils. The successful candidate will be a new graduate and will participate in all aspects of school life, including assisting with the teaching of Chinese throughout the department and giving conversational lessons to individual students or small groups of students as directed by the subject teacher. They will also be involved in some broader curriculum support and pastoral care within a boarding house.

This is a temporary position for up to two academic years, starting end of August 2025. A positive approach to learning, a caring and enthusiastic attitude, the ability to work in a team, and a willingness to participate fully in the broader life of this busy boarding community is essential. The successful candidate will be required to undertake at least one evening duty in a boarding house each week.

This is an ideal post for an outstanding individual considering teaching as a profession in the future. All meals during term-time when on duty are provided as part of the package, and there is accommodation on site available. The salary will be paid across the whole contract.
