Your role in our team: Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will be a senior and key addition to the Finance team. This role will be responsible for the smooth running of the financial reporting of the business, for developing and improving the governance framework, and efficient financial processes to the rapidly growing business, as well as playing a key role as a leader within the finance team. This role is ideal for someone who wants a broad and wide-reaching finance role, requiring both technical expertise and honed communication skills. The preferred candidate will be experienced, able to adapt to change, and someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the Financial Reporting team and Finance Business Partners to achieve personal and departmental objectives. Foster a high-performance culture within the team, promoting professional growth and development. Advocate a proactive and collaborative approach to business partnering across all areas of the company.
- Financial Reporting & Control: Own and run the month-end process, produce management accounts (P&L, cashflow, balance sheet, budget variances) for our leadership team and board reporting. Ownership of the regular reporting to our investor base and compliance with funding reporting requirements. Ownership of production of financial statements and smooth running of external audit. Maintain and enhance internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Financial Budgeting & Forecasting: Ownership of the annual financial budgeting process and work with department heads to prepare detailed annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor financial performance against the budget and forecast, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed. Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including long-term financial planning.
- Taxation / Company Secretarial: Co-ordinate with our tax advisers to ensure full compliance across our regulatory responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions. Ownership of our US Sales Tax responsibilities. Ensure that accounting policies comply with relevant accounting standards and that company policies are followed.
- Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis on strategic initiatives. Provide insightful commentary on business performance and recommend ways to improve profitability and cost efficiency.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise:
- Strong academic record.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA - 1st time passes preferred).
- Proven success working within a Financial Controllership role.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills.
- Strong track record of team leadership.
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven self-starter with experience of being able to work independently.
- Appreciation of the importance of a robust financial control environment.
- Experience with financial management and statutory accounts reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Prior experience of working in a comparable high velocity technology business.
- Netsuite experience preferable but not essential.
