Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to partner with a leading distilling client in the Moray area, who are seeking Maintenance Engineers (Electrical or Mechanical) to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers with experience in the process or distilling industry, working with plant equipment such as steam systems, boilers, piping systems, and other critical assets within a highly regulated environment.

The Role: As a Site Maintenance Engineer, you will support across a variety of operations at the distillery to meet production targets efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with health & safety standards, and contributing to continuous improvement projects across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and execute preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Provide 24/7 breakdown support as part of a 1 in 4 on-call rota.
  • Diagnose faults and repair equipment in a safe & efficient manner.
  • Monitor machinery performance and assist in installing new equipment.
  • Liaise with contractors and regulatory bodies where necessary.
  • Maintain stock levels of critical spares and ensure proper documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis to improve plant performance.
  • Utilise a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) for documentation.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Time-served & qualified in a relevant electrical or mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Experience in inspection & maintenance of distillery/process industry machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of safe systems of work.
  • IT proficiency – experience with Microsoft Office & CMMS systems.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude, with a focus on continuous improvement.
