6 Month Contract – AWS Cloud Engineer – Cloud Transformation (Insurance) – Consultancy Role

The Role:

As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure for our insurance sector client. You will work closely with architects, developers, and DevOps teams to ensure a seamless transition to AWS, applying best practices for security, reliability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy AWS cloud solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to migrate and modernize applications to AWS.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
  • Optimize cloud performance, cost, and security using AWS-native services and best practices.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and improve operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot cloud-related issues and ensure high availability of systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and client teams.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, etc.).
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud governance principles.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK, etc.).
  • Previous experience working in insurance, financial services, or regulated industries (preferred).
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.) are a plus.
