We are looking for an experienced and motivated Collaboration Engineering Manager to lead our team of engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining collaboration solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation in collaboration technologies covering email, messaging, file sharing, and mobility. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of collaboration tools and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of collaboration engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Strategy Development: Define and execute the strategy for collaboration technologies, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall objectives and IT roadmap.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that all collaboration solutions comply with security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of collaboration projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, ensuring best practices are followed in the design, implementation, and maintenance of collaboration solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including IT, HR, Compliance, InfoSec, and Operations, to understand their collaboration needs and ensure effective integration of solutions.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services and stay current with the market.
- Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of collaboration solutions and identify areas for improvement.
- Innovation and Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in collaboration tools and platforms, and proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for collaboration solutions and provide training to end-users and support teams as needed.
- Metrics and Reporting: Define KPIs to measure performance, consumption, availability, issue trending, and more.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in IT or engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role focused on collaboration technologies.
- Strong knowledge of collaboration tools and platforms, including mobility, (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Exchange, Slack, SharePoint, InTune).
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies working in an agile environment.
- Proficiency in Powershell.
- Expertise with M365 Compliance management, including E-Discovery, Data Residency, Privacy, and Security.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of end-user needs and a commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences.
- Experience in regulated financial services firm preferred.
