Analytical Team Leader (Method Development)

Our NE based client is actively looking for an Analytical Team Leader to manage the analytical output of a busy R&D / QC laboratory. This is a hands-on role, where the successful candidate will lead by example, taking the lead on method development and validation projects

Duties for this position will include :

Developing and validating robust methods of analysis using a variety of techniques including HPLC / UPLC / GC , together with spectroscopy and wet chemistry techniques

Leading a team of Analytical Chemists, providing support , training, mentoring and method trouble shooting ideas

Understanding a range of API / chemical compounds to derive novel methods of analysis

Liaising with key internal technical teams to ensure project milestones are understood and met

Interpreting data from HPLC, GC, FT-IR, NMR analyses, ensuring timely and accurate analytical results at all times

Ensuring all activities are carried out to Quality and Health and Safety standards Applications are invited from candidates with a BSC, MSc, PhD in Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry together with proven demonstrable skills and experience of developing novel methods of analysis for API and chemical compounds

This is a permanent position offering an attractive salary depending on skills and experience
