The Role
This is a dual-focused position that combines technical design delivery with team leadership. You’ll play a pivotal role in producing high-quality design outputs while also building and mentoring a dedicated in-house design team. Collaborating closely with clients, project teams, and external consultants, you’ll help deliver efficient, innovative, and buildable solutions across a broad range of civil and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Take the lead on the design of civil engineering and renewables projects
- Produce detailed drawings, calculations, and technical documentation
- Build and manage a growing internal design capability
- Work closely with construction teams to ensure practical design solutions
- Coordinate and oversee the work of external design consultants
- Promote value engineering and cost-effective design approaches

About You
- Solid background in civil engineering design with hands-on technical expertise
- Comfortable producing design outputs, not just overseeing the process
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring design teams
- Familiar with working in either a contractor or consultancy setting
