About Us:
Regeneration, Economy and Planning in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories, where little things can have a huge impact on people's lives. For example, take Mitin, our Head of Estates Services. Mitin's team is responsible for cleaning, gardening and bulk refuse removal across several housing estates where many of our residents require a greater degree of assistance. It's not just about keeping our blocks and estates shipshape, it's about human contact and letting residents know that we care.
The Role:
As a Technical Design and Quality Manager, you can make your own powerful contribution to one of London's flagship housing development programmes. Your expertise and knowledge will be needed to ensure consistent design quality and sustainability standards across the portfolio. You'll be contributing to project risk management decisions, preparing the team for the latest technical changes and legislation, such as the Future Homes Standards and the Building Safety Act using your applied knowledge, working with project and client teams to ensure smooth transition of technical design and quality issues at completion. Your key responsibilities will include supporting the team on all technical and design issues, ensuring clear client standards and monitoring, and collaborating with project teams ensuring standardisation of requirements. Advising on technical design aspects to achieve net zero homes and other building requirements will also be key parts of your role.
About You:
You will need a strong proven track record of managing the design development process on residential developments, ensuring the design process complies with all current legislation, and inspecting design quality. A keen interest in assessing the usability of the homes with residents is important for this role. Having a strong work ethic, a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, excellent communication skills, and an ability to stay organized are all criteria that will keep you on top of this role.
Westminster City Council is committed to supporting Care Leavers into the workplace. Care Leavers seeking their first job and who wish to be considered under our scheme, will automatically be invited to interview should they meet the essential criteria for the role.
