Requirements:
- Strong background in software engineering, software design, or database design.
- Experience in architecture and integration of various protocols like FTP, MQ, and Connect Direct.
- Technical leadership and accountability for a software engineering team.
- Familiarity with test-driven development and the use of automated test frameworks, mocking, stubbing, and unit testing tools.
- Knowledge of the key phases of the software delivery lifecycle and established software development methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience in iSeries or AS400 language, including RPGLE, Free Format RPGLE, SQL, Imbedded SQL, and stored procedures.
- Knowledge or experience of IBM Power 10 infrastructure hosting the v7r5 operating system.
- Knowledge or experience of DB2 database structures.
- Knowledge or experience of full system end-to-end design or project life cycle activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge or experience of Agile methodologies.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead a team of developers and set the technical direction for our software deliveries.
- Apply the principles and methodologies of software engineering to the technical design, development, testing, and maintenance of applications and services.
- Ensure the work quality of the software engineering team meets the technical standards for all service outputs.
- Monitor technical progress against plans while safeguarding functionality, scalability, and performance, and providing updates to stakeholders.
- Support and mentor the team in understanding relevant software languages and technical domains.
- Drive the adoption of software engineering principles, processes, and best practices.
- Liaise with engineers, architects, business analysts, and other key stakeholders to understand objectives, requirements, and options.
- Design and develop high-volume, high-performance, and high-availability applications using proven frameworks and technologies.
