Our Risk division develops comprehensive processes to monitor, assess, and manage the risk of expected and unexpected events that may have an adverse impact on the firm. Risk professionals execute critical day-to-day risk management activities, lead projects, and contribute to the ongoing advancement of a robust risk management program. Effective coordination with executive management, business units, control departments and technology is critical for success.

Credit Risk is responsible for managing the firm's credit exposure to its trading and lending counterparties. Credit professionals protect the Firm's capital by leveraging expertise in financial analysis of clients, markets, and products to make risk decisions. Credit Risk provides a unique opportunity to develop a variety of professional skills and expertise in risk management while working on financial transactions and gaining a broad perspective on how the entire Firm functions. The interaction with numerous departments and the wide range of projects allow for a challenging, varied and multi-dimensional work environment. This role is ideal for collaborative individuals who are intellectually curious, have strong ethics and attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assess the credit and financial strength of the firm's borrowers and counterparts across Emerging Markets (CEEMEA region) by performing fundamental credit analysis using both quantitative and qualitative factors.
  • Coordinate with Global Banking and Markets (GBM), Legal, Operations and Compliance departments to review and approve derivative, funding and lending transactions while ensuring appropriate documentation and risk mitigants to protect against default and minimize potential losses.
  • Proactively monitor and assess counterparts and industry / country portfolios and report relevant information and its impact to senior management in a timely manner.
  • Develop and manage relationships with colleagues from the broader Risk division as well as with other areas of the firm.
  • Represent credit views in Risk Committees.
  • Interact with regulators as part of the ongoing supervision process.
  • Perform sector analysis regularly in order to assess portfolio concentration or trends.
  • Monitor, manage and report exposures at a counterpart, product and portfolio level.
SKILLS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in credit analysis for corporates and financial institutions.
  • Experience covering clients in Emerging Markets is desirable, although not a strict requirement.
  • Knowledge of derivatives, funding, and lending products, including structured non-vanilla transactions.
  • Experience in negotiating trading documentation (ISDA, GMRA).
  • Strong interest and familiarity with finance, financial markets and economic / political developments in emerging markets.
  • Appreciation for country-related risk factors and their impact on transactional analysis.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly in teams and manage a varied workload to meet deadlines.
  • Track record of independent decision-making and the ability to steer client and business negotiations.
