The role
We are looking for a Compliance Manager to ensure that Gateway Housing meets its statutory landlord compliance obligations in all areas including gas safety, water safety, asbestos, electrical safety, fire safety and lift/LOLER requirements. You will administer the delivery of a high-quality responsive service that ensures all M&E services, systems and installations comply fully with all statutory and regulatory requirements and Accepted Codes of Practice.
Accountabilities
Your accountabilities will include but are not limited to:
- Monitor and plan servicing programmes and plans of work relating to statutory health and safety compliance and ensure they are delivered on time and to the required standards ensuring that all necessary certification is always in place.
- Manage and monitor relevant contractors to ensure delivery against specifications, to budget, and to lead on all reconciliation activities to ensure data accuracy.
- Responsible for verification of works completed and their quality. Oversee and/or carry out a programme of post inspections to confirm identified works have been completed in line with suppliers’ contractual agreements.
- Develop and maintain a compliance framework across all areas of the organisation’s operations.
- Keep updated on corporate, regulatory and legislative changes and advise management of the implications to the business.
- Contribute towards and support the review of Health, Safety and Wellbeing related Policies and Procedures.
- Assist in budgetary control by monitoring and reporting expenditure to services suppliers. Liaise with suppliers over future and variation costs to update forecasts and maintain accurate reporting. Reconcile contractor invoice accounts on a regular basis.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Senior management experience with extensive knowledge of Health and Safety expertise.
- Experience of collaborative senior leadership, leading groups of colleagues to monitor and develop services and deliver change.
- Holder of a Health and Safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH).
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation and compliance requirements in the UK.
- Proven experience in a compliance or risk management role.
- Analytical and logical skills with excellent problem solving.
- Strategic development, policy creation and delivery.
- Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive working understanding of Compliance, its practical enforcement and wide expertise across all aspects of property Compliance.
