Job Responsibilities
- As a subject matter expert on the Employers’ Liability Insurance Database (ELD), you will work closely with internal teams, insurers, and service providers to ensure a high level of service for customers. You will drive continuous improvement and oversee the database’s evolution while ensuring compliance with FCA ICOBS 8.4 handbook.
- Deputise for the Product Manager, covering leave and absences across the team to maintain service resilience.
- Product Ownership: Collaborate with stakeholders, including insurers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams, to define, prioritise, and manage product features and enhancements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all developments align with ICOBS 8.4 requirements and other relevant industry regulations.
- Service Management: Work closely with service providers to implement changes, resolve technical challenges, and improve system functionality.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the bridge between insurers, service providers, and internal teams to align business needs with technical solutions.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth operations.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive data-informed decisions and improvements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of product changes, issues, and resolutions while providing regular reports to senior management.
- Industry Representation: Represent the organisation at industry events, engaging with key stakeholders and keeping up to date with market trends.
Qualifications and Education
- Proven experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role within the insurance or financial services industry.
- UK insurance industry experience is beneficial, particularly within employers’ liability or regulatory environments.
- Strong knowledge of ICOBS 8.4 and its application to employers’ liability insurance databases would be an advantage.
- Experience working with service providers, managing change requests, and addressing technical challenges.
- Ability to derive insights from complex data and statistics and present findings to stakeholders in a clear, actionable way.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive data-driven improvements.
- Self-reliant with the ability to work independently and manage tasks without direct supervision.
- Innovative thinker, able to identify and implement process improvements.
- Experience with Office products (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ServiceNow is beneficial.
- Technical literacy would be beneficial, with an understanding of system integrations and data management.
- Experience with agile methodologies and product lifecycle management is desirable.
