We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to join the team at the famous Natural History Museum. The role oversees the kitchen operations within the Natural History Museum, including cafes, T. Rex Grill restaurant and a growing events & internal hospitality business. All outlets serve a selection of freshly made sandwiches, salads, and modern British mains. The T.Rex serves a range of salads and mains, as well as focusing on a range of burgers and stone baked sourdough pizzas.
Shifts: 5 days out of 7/ Mon- Fri/ Weekends
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
About the Head Chef role:
- To plan, organise and direct the kitchen team to deliver exceptional fresh and seasonal food to specification, ensuring that we never compromise on taste and quality.
- To drive sales and monitor costs through responsibly ordering via quality and preferred suppliers.
- To be responsible for all aspects of food safety, health and safety and COSHH.
- To manage rotas and scheduling accordingly to the business needs.
- To coach, train and develop the team.
- To work closely with the group Executive Chef on menu development.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Passionate about designing, creating and delivering exceptional food dishes.
- Experienced working within a high volume kitchen.
- Commercially aware, i.e., understanding profit margins, purchasing, budgets, labour, food costs.
