Our client, an SME electronics business, seeks to appoint an Engineering Manager to oversee their design team. You must have ten years of design engineer experience, be fully proficient with modern electronic manufacturing methodology, and have a minimum of two years of management/senior leadership experience.
Managing a team of design engineers, the appointed Engineering Manager will manage multiple projects, delivering on time and on budget design work, ensuring all customer deadlines are met.
Role & Responsibilities- Day to day management of a team of electronic design engineers
- Overall responsibility for delivery of multiple design projects to meet business requirements
- Liaise with sales team over available resources and existing pipelines of work
- Technical authority for customer queries on quality and timescale
- Settle internal design team conflicts on the best route forward for specific projects
- Commercially astute to balance available resources to best deliver against budgeted work
- HND/Degree in electronic engineering or equivalent
- Familiar with PCB software and other software packages
- Prior experience of managing design teams, including recent graduates requiring a large degree of support and lead design engineers with years of experience
- Prior experience of hands-on design work.
- Able to quickly interpret a client's requirements and translate this into a specification for a member(s) of your team
