Identity & Access Management Engineer

We’re hiring an Identity & Access Management Engineer to support a public sector cyber security uplift programme. The successful contractor will lead on the separation of high-privilege accounts in a hybrid Active Directory and Entra ID environment, implementing identity architecture in line with Zero Trust principles and NCSC guidance. This is a hands-on technical delivery role, contributing to operational rollout, secure configuration, and structured documentation.
The ideal Identity & Access Management Engineer will have a proven background in cloud-based identity engineering, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, PIM, and AD privilege separation. You’ll work with technical leads to assess current-state architecture, design least-privilege access models, and deliver secure identity changes across multiple environments.
Your responsibilities as Identity & Access Management Engineer include:
- Lead design and rollout of high-privilege identity separation across hybrid environments.
- Support configuration of Entra ID and Active Directory, ensuring secure sync and filtering.
- Build and document least-privilege access models aligned to Zero Trust.
- Implement Privileged Identity Management for JIT access, break-glass accounts, and alerting.
- Deliver robust documentation and communicate guidance clearly to internal teams.
Your experience as Identity & Access Management Engineer will include:
- Entra ID: Conditional Access, role design, app management.
- PIM: Just-in-time access, approval workflows, alert configurations.
- Active Directory: Tier-0 structure, Group Policy, OU segmentation.
- AADC: Hybrid sync troubleshooting, filtering, and role scoping.
- Zero Trust & PAW: Secure workstation policies and access controls.
