Overview: Our client is actively looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer with 3/4 years worth of experience to support a very healthy and growing pipeline of work. The work will be typically related to rail civil and drainage projects. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing business that will be able to match an ambitious engineer’s future aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design concrete and steel structures using engineering software and manual calculations.
- Carry out AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage designs as required.
- Prepare detailed design documentation.
- Conduct site visits.
- Lead smaller projects as a project manager.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a design consultancy.
- Experience of monitoring compliance with design, statutory professional requirements.
- Ability to represent the company on site visits/surveys (sometimes in unsociable hours) in a professional manner.
Desirable:
- A Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (ICE or IStructE) or near chartered.
- Experience of effective financial management and control of projects.
- Having a current clean UK driving license for travel throughout the UK to visit sites and carry out inspections from time to time would be an advantage.
