Are you an Editorial Assistant ready for your next step up? The DK Travel division is seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to work across our expanding list of travel guides and gift and inspiration books. As an Editor, you will play a crucial role in delivering a range of projects, from guidebook updates to exciting new content, as well as conducting market research and creating sales materials. This would be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Editorial Assistant to step up and further develop their editorial and project management skills within a supportive team environment. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow, with a genuine passion for travel and travel publishing. You should have proven experience in editorial publishing and be ready to embrace new challenges.

You should have:

  • An understanding of the fundamentals of the publishing process, specifically commissioning, editing and producing visual editorial content
  • Proven ability to project-manage a list of titles, keeping to schedules and budgets
  • Copy-editing, proofreading and research skills
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • An understanding of what makes good content
  • Experience working with InDesign will be advantageous

This role reports directly to the Editorial Director, and you will also support and collaborate with members of the wider editorial team. In line with DK’s hybrid working approach, this role is currently office-based for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely for part of the week.

Salary: £31,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
