We're currently recruiting for our client, a major energy company and developer for the renewable energy industry within the APAC region, for senior Offshore Project Control professionals who have proven track records of Offshore Project Control experience and are familiar with governance and documentation on the multi-national/regional level.

This company is fully integrated across the entire renewable energy project lifecycle, from site identification and assessment, engineering and permitting, contracting and procurement, installation and commissioning to operations and maintenance.

The General Manager for Offshore Project Controls will be responsible for defining, establishing, and leading a regional team of project professionals who will manage project risk, schedule, cost, document control, and reporting, with a specific focus on offshore wind power projects in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, and the Philippines. The role will involve the reassignment of existing cross-country/regional personnel, as well as the recruitment of additional personnel as needed. This is the APAC regional leadership role and reports to the Head of Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project control policies, procedures, and standards across the organization, specifically for offshore wind power projects.
  • Develop and lead a team of project control professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support as required.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans for offshore wind power projects.
  • Develop and implement a document control system to ensure that project documentation for offshore wind power projects is organized, accessible, and up-to-date.
  • Develop and implement a project reporting system to provide regular updates on offshore wind power project status, risks, and issues to project stakeholders and senior management.
  • Understand the context and risks and communicate a holistic view of the project, and internal and external interfaces and stakeholders.
  • Review and report against project governance requirements for offshore wind power projects.
  • Analyse project data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies for offshore wind power projects.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of project control staff for offshore wind power projects.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in offshore project controls management, with a focus on renewable energy projects, particularly offshore wind power.
  • Recent experience on the multi-national/regional level is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls tools and software, including Primavera, MS Project, and Excel, as well as specialized offshore wind power project controls software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks for offshore wind project(s).
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of professionals working on offshore wind power projects.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to project stakeholders and senior management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities for offshore wind power projects.
  • Willingness to travel within the Asia-Pacific region as required for offshore wind power projects.
