A CAD technician with 3D Tekla experience is required by our client, a prestige contractor with a strong pipeline of work. Your first project will be HS2’s Old Oak Common station, the vital interchange connecting the new line with London and its rail networks, at around £2 billion, it is one of the largest rail interchanges to be built in the UK, and the largest subsurface station. The project is expected to require a five year input.
Company Overview: A profitable contractor known for delivering complex heavy civil engineering and building projects. They work on high profile schemes in the nuclear, rail, airport, highways, commercial & residential high rise sectors. The company employs over seven hundred staff who work on projects nationally, a significant proportion of their activity is in Central and Greater London. The technically challenging nature of their projects means they have a strong team of structural engineers and technicians focused on front end design and optimisation.
Duties: You will work alongside a team of structural engineers and technicians, you will be involved in 3D modelling and design with an emphasis on steel structures, facades and architectural metalwork. The position will initially focus on the structural elements for head houses, vent shafts, ancillary buildings and other critical structures designed using RC and steel.
Profile Required: A structural technician with at least six years’ experience, you will need strong Tekla and 3D knowledge. Your CAD expertise could have been gained with a design consultancy, steelwork fabricator or contractor. You should be qualified to HNC or degree level and have good interpersonal and organisational skills.
