Residential Childcare Worker Ashington, Northumberland Competitive Rates Permanent We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our client as Residential Childcare Workers at their Residential Children’s Home in Fenham, Newcastle. Our organisation values the diverse range of life experiences and transferable skills that can contribute to our team, even if you don’t have prior experience in a Children’s Residential Home setting. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will receive comprehensive support and training to excel in your role. We provide an incentivised funding scheme to help you obtain the required qualifications for this position. Our company promotes career growth and continual professional development, including opportunities for progression to Senior and Management roles. Flexible contract options, including full-time (40 hours), part-time (26 hours). Our client prioritises the well-being and relationships of the children in their care. They provide a safe, warm, and comfortable environment for up to five children and young people aged between 8 and 17 years old. Their residents may have mild to moderate learning disabilities, have experienced trauma, or exhibit emotional or behavioral difficulties. What We Expect: Qualifications and Skills: * Essential understanding of child development, therapeutic parenting, and the specific needs of children, demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting young people. * Desirable: QCF Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma (or equivalent). Candidates without this qualification can still apply, as our client offers a plan that allows them to work towards it after completing the probation period. * Ability to adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, always ensuring compliance. * Excellent communication, flexibility, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team of Residential Childcare Workers. * Possession of diverse skills and the capability to empathise with children who have complex needs, effectively managing challenging behaviours. * Willingness to work on a shift rota system, which includes daytime, evening, and night shifts. * Strong organisational and time management skills to effectively handle various responsibilities. * Residency within a commutable distance and eligibility to work in the UK.
