About Your Opportunity: Our involvement with all engineering disciplines places us in a unique position to support the continued sustainment and development of our sovereign defence capability. We are employed on large and complex programmes delivering world changing capability and functionality. Each phase providing evidence against the enabling requirements ensuring they have been flowed down, implemented in the design, integrated, verified and validated. V&V engineers are a core to each NGUK project. Working within project teams, the V&V function ensures the essential activities are conducted throughout engineering lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities:
- The position requires the application of Verification and Validation and IVVTQA principles and best practices across the System Engineering lifecycle, from requirements, design, integration, supporting of the acceptance process, contributing to and managing TRR meetings.
- Manage and testing at a specialised test house.
- Contribute towards key elements of IVVTQA management plans and other documentation such as Test Procedures, VCRI’s, Test Reports etc.
- Familiarisation, co-ordination and delivery of Off-site Testing support of electrical sub-systems.
- Support the continuous improvement of the Hardware testing and associated V&V processes using approved, best practice methods.
- Aid the creation and performance of IVVTQA activities as per approved plans, processes and procedures.
- Maintain alignment, or a tailored approach, of IVVTQA lifecycle activities in accordance with department and industry standards.
- Supporting IVVTQA at Project reviews, Design reviews, Risk analysis meetings, Change Impact activities etc.
- Ability to support the wider V&V activities, including software deliveries as and when required.
Your Experience:
- Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering/Electrical engineering (SE processes and methodologies (including ISO 15288/ISO 29119/INCOSE)).
- Understanding of electrical engineering to facilitate test assurance and requirement compliance activities.
- Experienced in System Engineering V&V lifecycle planning, delivering and reporting.
- Experience in the use of requirement management tools (e.g. DOORS).
- Proven experience of an evidence based approach for Systems Integration, V&V, Acceptance Hardware Testing and assurance.
- Systems thinking, logical approach to Root Cause Analysis, any associated rectifications and regression test management.
- Good communication, stakeholder management, & technical report writing skills.
