We are seeking a Senior Contracts Manager looking to progress to Operations Director or an experienced Operations Director ready to hit the ground running. This is a hands-on role for someone with strong commercial acumen, scaffolding knowledge, and potentially existing client relationships. The successful candidate will take full ownership of daily operations, working closely with the Managing Director to drive growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, including site management, logistics, and yard operations. Make decisions on labour, materials, and disputes, ensuring projects align with client plans.
- Health & Safety: Ensure scaffolding works comply with health and safety guidelines. Manage site accidents and ensure proper documentation.
- Business Development: Work with the MD to identify and pursue new business opportunities while nurturing client relationships.
- Recruitment & Training: Manage recruitment and training of scaffolders, ensuring ongoing development and compliance.
- Financial Management: Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget, assist with financial reporting, and support wage preparation.
- General: Contribute to management meetings and continually improve operational practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in the construction sector, preferably scaffolding.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage teams.
- Experience with large-scale projects and main contractors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, results-driven mindset and a commitment to health and safety.
- Construction industry qualifications preferred.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7am - 4pm
