We are working with an award-winning education provider in the area of Bridgwater, Somerset. They are looking for an Art Lead Teacher to add to their team. The role is term time only over 39 weeks.

We are looking for someone with experience in teaching students with complex needs who can lead the team by example. The Art Lead Teacher will have the knowledge and skills to deliver lessons across a range of Key Stages.

  • Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to ensure accessibility and success for students with SEMH difficulties.
  • Lead the Arts department by mentoring staff and fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement.
  • Direct line management of classroom staff.
  • Act as the Arts programme lead, leading on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Arts via keyworkers and across the wider school provision.
  • Ensure Arts is mapped across the curriculum, with a clear system in place for evaluating student progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, referrals, and related documentation.

Qualifications required:

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Degree in relevant subject area.
  • Aspire to be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
