Location: Barton Under Needwood, Staffordshire
Duration: 3 months plus
Hours: 7am till 5pm Monday to Thursday and 7am till 1pm on a Friday.
We are currently recruiting for a number of Engine Builders for permanent roles to work within the Rail industry based in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- To be able to strip and re-build all the mechanical components of an engine, as per the work instruction.
- To be able to work to OEM manuals.
- To read and interpret assembly specifications and manuals, to plan assembly and build operations.
- The ability to verify conformance of parts to stock lists, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
- To liaise with other business units to get the task completed.
- The ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
- To accurately complete documentation to the company's standards.
- To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
- To mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
- To report any near misses.
- To comply with Company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and HR policies and procedures.
- To report any failures/faults identified.
Person Specification:
- To be able to work within a changing environment, working to deadlines and short lead times.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- To take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities.
Qualifications/Education Required:
- Minimum NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds in motor repairs or equivalent.
