About the role
The Strategic Market Intelligence Director is a senior CBIA leadership position recognised as a subject matter expert within the CBIA organisation. The role is responsible for driving and delivering strategic market insights across the organization. The successful candidate will be pivotal in providing technical expertise and thought leadership in market intelligence, influencing the company’s strategic direction.
As a key partner to the Enterprise Strategy team, the successful candidate will synthesise complex and varied market data sources and consumer behaviour trends to inform decision-making. This role also works cross-functionally with markets, business units, and global categories to support and influence key strategic decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the Enterprise Strategy team to deliver critical insights that shape business strategies and decisions.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Proactively and reactively address high-priority requests, delivering timely, reliable and actionable insights.
- Innovation in SMI and Thought Leadership: Develop and implement new methodologies to enhance the organisation’s market intelligence capabilities.
- Strategic Market Data sourcing: Responsible for the commissioning and supplier management of the strategic market insights data at enterprise level.
- Trends: Leading the development and reshaping our Haleon enterprise trend program.
- Consumers 1st: Overall responsibility for the management of two key global agencies ensuring Haleon is getting the best value from those partnerships.
Qualifications and skills
The successful candidate will have significant experience in the following areas:
- Experience in strategic insights & analytics, or business intelligence role, in a global organisation, ideally within healthcare.
- Experience leading large scale strategic insights initiatives.
- Proficiency in data analysis, competitive intelligence, statistical modelling, and the application of new tools and approaches in market analysis.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for presenting complex insights clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders.
- Extensive experience working within a fast-paced, matrixed organisation, partnering with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to influence decision-makers, lead cross-functional teams, and navigate intricate relationships across diverse markets and geographies.
- Experience of working with continuous market data sources, including household panel, would be advantageous.
