As General Manager for Superdry, you will lead and implement the regional sourcing strategy, optimising country mix and supplier management across India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Collaborating with UK teams to ensure seamless operations, sustainability initiatives, and supplier compliance. Oversee sourcing office functions, budgets, and administration while leading cross-functional teams. Drive sustainability efforts, gender empowerment, and ethical sourcing while staying aligned with global business objectives. This role requires office presence over 4 days.

You Will

  • Implement and deliver the overall sourcing strategy and identify opportunities across 3 regions to increase the country mix & direct business.
  • Work closely with all cross-functional team heads in the UK, including Sourcing, Quality and Technical, Sustainability, Design, Planning, and Merchandising.
  • Manage the overall day-to-day office operation, administration, and resources of the sourcing office, including office budgets and costs.
  • Provide local and regional sourcing expertise to the UK Head Office ensuring fast and effective communication with the relevant business teams, central sourcing, and other sourcing offices.
  • Inspire and lead 4 teams in the region: Product Development, Merchandising, Quality & Technical, Ethical & Sustainability and ensure they are aligned with the global and regional strategy.
  • Define consistent ways of working, deliver OTIF, AQL, Cost, MOQ, Capacity/Production management and supplier compliance KPIs, effectively managing the regional supply base.
  • Supplier management across India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh; strengthen and guide suppliers to fulfil business objectives.
  • New supplier research/onboarding and responsible exit process management.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives across the product development and production processes.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Set and meet sustainability targets, such as reduced carbon footprint, water conservation, and waste reduction.
  • Lead gender empowerment program and cotton lint procurement.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulations in sustainable production, incorporating relevant insights into development strategies.

You Are

  • At least 20-25 years working experience in a related field for UK/European market including at least 5 years in a position as people leader.
  • Extensive knowledge of apparel sourcing, product development, merchandising, quality management, and compliance.
  • Lead, coach and manage people to support development and drive success.
  • Ability to make fast effective decisions in order to resolve problems at source and drive KPIs.
  • Multi-task oriented working to tight deadlines while maintaining entrepreneurialism.
  • Strong analytical skills, championing and leveraging market and sales data to shape future strategy to grow business in the region.
  • Ability to work across multiple sourcing models.
  • Familiar with the retail industry and garment buying process.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with counterparts in UK and suppliers across the region.
  • Cross-functional and cross-cultural working experience.
  • Ability to create an environment for colleagues to work efficiently.
  • Help & support work-life balance.
  • Happy to travel to UK and other sourcing regions as and when required.
