The Role – Field Service Engineer:

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer in the Stowmarket/Ipswich area to be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing third-party material handling equipment. In this role, you will be providing a good level of customer service through product knowledge and customer interaction.

1. Complete all service, repair, warranty, and inspection jobs allocated daily, to a high-quality standard
2. Working on a variety of Material Handling equipment – Working on quite large equipment at times
3. Build strong rapport and relationships with customers, through professional behaviour and a customer-focused mindset
4. Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve standard technical problems that arise, ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction
5. Develop skills and knowledge of the organisation’s products and service
6. Comply with all Legal and company standards, such as the code of conduct and H&S practices.

This role will involve travelling to other areas depending on what the Coordinators have scheduled in workwise.

What our client is looking for in a Field Service Engineer:

1. Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar qualifications to Level 3 are ESSENTIAL
2. Experienced multi-skilled engineering experience with heavy plant equipment and working with Hydraulic Systems (ESSENTIAL)
3. Able to read and follow electrical wiring diagrams
4. Ideally coming from a Heavy Material Handling, Plant or HGV background
5. Fault find and diagnostics of CANBUS Systems, as well as electrical fault finding
6. Good IT literacy, numeracy, and analytical skills.
7. Must be flexible and very adaptable
8. This isn’t a normal 8:30am-5pm job, you will need to be flexible to work over/travel, depending on the job being worked on
9. Overnight stays could happen but infrequently
10. Flexibility to travel as the location will depend on what the Coordinators have scheduled
