The role involves providing operational facilities maintenance support to the Babcock vehicle engineering site. Day-to-day, you'll participate in the delivery of a wide range of facilities maintenance activities including:
- Supporting electrical work, which includes test and inspection duties.
- Controlling stock and maintaining workshop tools.
- Developing business awareness.
- Carrying out planned maintenance activities within the facilities as required.
- Fault finding and making safe operations on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Processing reactive maintenance requests in a timely and efficient way.
- Raising corrective work orders and monitoring progress.
- Maintaining and updating systems to support Facilities Management related activity.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role. This position involves manual work, which could include lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods of time. This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on-site at Walsall.
Essential experience:
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical Repair and Overhaul activity.
- Understanding of relevant statutory regulations.
Qualifications:
- 18th Edition Qualified - C&G 2382-22
- Test and Inspection Qualified - C&G 2391
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and NPPV security clearance for this role.
