Nine Twenty are proud to be working with one of Scotland's premier multi-purpose venues to find a Building Services Engineer to join their team in Edinburgh. The primary function of this role is to ensure that buildings are maintained to provide a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for staff and clients. You will be assisting in ensuring that mechanical and electrical systems within the buildings are running effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the plant and equipment within the building to the highest standard in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Be proactive in maintaining the fabric/appearance of the building to internationally recognised standards.
- Ensure that building maintenance and repair works are proactively undertaken to the required quality standard.
- Assist Facilities Co-ordinator with the operation and monitoring of all equipment and facilities including arranging repair, maintenance and/or replacement.
- Assist in the planned building maintenance programme of the mechanical systems.
- Assist the Facilities Co-ordinator in monitoring the work and conduct of all casual maintenance staff, engineers, contractors and others whilst in the facility to ensure they conform to current H&S regulations concerning safe working practices.
- Inspect and compile reports as requested on condition, operation and running costs of plant and machinery.
- Attend and participate in communication activities and/or teamwork.
- Contribute to departmental objectives.
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of building management systems.
- Hold a minimum of HNC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- 17th Edition /18th Edition trained.
- Experience with providing a high level of customer service and client management.
- Ability to multi-task and work on several projects at the same time.
- Team player.
- Flexible with their time to meet the business and clients' needs.
