Brilliant opportunity to work as an FLT Driver for our client - A multinational packaging company specializing in sustainable corrugated packaging, paper products, and recycling solutions. Staffline is recruiting FLT Drivers in Ely.

The rate of pay is £13.02 per hour. Overtime applies daily after 8 hours worked and is paid at £16.27 per hour. This is a full-time role working fixed shifts, Monday to Friday, and the hours of work are: 8am to 4pm.

Your Time at Work

  • Working with the team to unload and load deliveries.
  • Check quantities and quality, reporting any issues to the Goods in/Out Supervisor or equivalent.
  • Housekeeping in yard and factory.
  • H&S involvement and reporting.

This role involves lifting heavy loads mechanically and sometimes manually. So, forklift drivers must have a lot of stamina and physical strength. Applicants must be able to bend, kneel, and stoop from time to time. You must have the endurance to sit and drive the forklift for a very long time.

Requirements:

  • Possess the necessary training and certificates necessary to drive a counterbalance forklift.
  • Have the necessary safety training and certificates.
  • Responsible for the health and safety of themselves and others while in control of the forklift.
  • Follow the safe systems of work processes.
  • Adhere to the company vehicle maintenance reporting policy reporting any incidents involving the forklift.
  • Must be of the legal age stipulated by law for a forklift driver position. Ideally, the person must be over 18 years of age.
  • A good vision is imperative as well as sound health, as the driver may be required to work in extreme temperatures and sometimes may be asked to move hazardous chemicals or waste.
  • Possess excellent communication skills; they must be able to listen to and take instructions from the warehouse manager and adhere strictly to them.
  • Good numerical skill is also very essential for effective forklift driving work as the driver is expected to weigh and accurately record the weight and description of the merchandise being moved.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Complete accurate pallet counts and checks as part of a positive release process.

Experience in a similar role is required.
