We’re looking for a Senior Heritage Structural Engineer to join our client\’s dynamic team and lead projects that protect and celebrate architectural legacy.
As a Senior Heritage Structural Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in restoring, conserving, and reimagining heritage structures. Working closely with architects, historians, and conservation specialists, you’ll lead innovative engineering solutions that balance historical authenticity with modern functionality.
What You’ll Do:
- Assess and develop structural designs for historic buildings, ensuring compliance with preservation standards.
- Manage a small team of senior engineers on restoration projects from concept to completion.
- Use advanced techniques to stabilise and strengthen aging structures while respecting their original design.
- Work with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to deliver projects that honor architectural heritage.
- Apply sustainable practices to modernise historic spaces responsibly.
What We’re Looking For:
- The successful candidate will be a Chartered Engineer with significant experience of conservation work, CARE registered or working towards accreditation.
- Proven experience in the analysis and restoration of historic and listed buildings.
- Strong knowledge of traditional construction methods and materials.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a creative mindset.
- Excellent writing, speaking and sketching skills are required.
