Grayson is a growing organisation positioned in the Low Carbon / Zero emission sector, developing products in automotive, rail, off-highway and remote energy storage markets. We are developing an exciting range of Thermal Management products; our team needs a technical publications author to ensure we have excellent customer instructions and documentation. Whether it be service documentation, internal technical bulletins, rework instructions, product brochures or parts manuals - we’re committed to ensuring its high quality.
Job Purpose
Create and maintain our digital technical publications to the highest possible standard.
Role Summary And Responsibilities
- Communicate with the product internal and customer stakeholders.
- Gather and interpret engineering drawings, models, schematics, and specifications.
- Use a suite of authoring tools and guidelines to create customer-focused publications.
- Create text, simplifying complex systems into a structured and understandable format.
- Create graphics for technical illustrations.
- Proofread documentation making sure that it meets the customers’ required standard.
- Coordinate translation of technical publications for international markets.
- Work with the Aftermarket team to identify and improve our Technical Publications to support market expectations.
You will need to be professional, technically competent, able to work independently, prioritise and manage workload.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in the automotive (on or off highway) or industrial equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously using a methodical approach.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in all documentation.
- The motivation to demonstrate a “right first-time approach”.
- Able to identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions.

Training
Training will be given on all internal systems to make sure that you can reach the required level of competence. On-going training on products and a detailed understanding of the business will be provided.
Working hours - Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-1pm. This role will be based in our Head office in Tyseley, Birmingham with the option of hybrid working after a successful probation.
