Domestic & Commercial Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer required for our client, a well-established mechanical engineering and building services company. They have built a reputation within the Building Services Industry by delivering Design, Installation and Maintenance Services to both public and private sector markets.
The work is local to the Billericay office until July, then overtime will be required for school projects and potentially staying away. Therefore, the engineer needs to be happy to travel and stay away from home and work longer hours than normal. Other locations will cover M25 & home counties.

Position Overview
You will be required to perform services and breakdowns on gas and heating systems within both domestic and commercial settings. This will include AC, ASHP, Biomass, Boilers, etc. This is a progressive role where you would look to expand and lead a team of breakdown engineers. You will be required to start a facilities maintenance division, with practical and management experience. You will also have experience in completing and issuing paperwork and service sheets and records. 50% of work is in Essex, 25% in London & Home counties, and 25% involves travel & staying away, which is occasionally expected and on a rota basis.
Position Requirements
- Extensive service and breakdown experience required within both domestic and commercial gas and heating applications
- Experience within all mechanical aspects of commercial plant rooms, including boilers, heating appliances, etc.
- Experience within HVAC systems, i.e., AC systems, ASHP, renewables (desirable)
- Up to date, valid ACS Commercial and Domestic Gas Tickets, including COCN1 or CODNC01, CIGA1, and CDGA1. Other industry-specific plumbing and qualifications are advantageous
- Experience working within schools, hospitals & occupied commercial premises is required
- Experience working within private/sheltered/council domestic properties
