Perry of Oakley Ltd, a manufacturer of bulk materials handling, drying & storage equipment, requires a person with experience in AutoCAD to join their sales team. The company has a strong 70+ year heritage in the agricultural and biomass sectors as well as other allied industries. They were awarded the SHAPA Exporter of the Year as well as being one of the UK’s top 100 SMEs in recent years. This is an ideal opportunity to gain experience working in a busy engineering sales environment. This junior role will provide the training to progress into a Sales Manager role. This role would suit a new engineering graduate or anyone who has relevant Auto-CAD experience in an engineering environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce good quality CAD customer site layouts and machine drawings in 3D and 2D based on customer requirements.
  • Work with the customer and internal project team to develop the drawings and layouts as the requirements evolve.
  • Produce quotes based on drawings and customer requirements.
  • Attend customer site visits within the UK for measurements.
  • Liaise with structural engineers and other key suppliers.
  • Assist with machine manual creation as required.
  • Process orders accurately and ensure other company departments are fully briefed with the relevant information.
  • Manage and develop customer accounts to gain additional sales.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Update the company CRM.
  • Assist with other duties within the project, site & sales team as may be required.

Key skills and experience:

  • Must have minimum of 1 year experience in AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Must have minimum of 6 months experience in a customer facing role.
  • Must be confident using computer based software and systems.
  • Must be confident talking on the telephone to people you do not know.
  • Must have good attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent Maths and English skills.
  • Must be a strong, clear communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be a great team player and have an optimistic & enthusiastic outlook to their work.
  • Must hold a full driving licence.
  • Experience of producing drawings in a manufacturing/sheet metal fabrication/engineering environment would be desirable but not essential.

Please be aware there is no public transport to this area. During the first 6 months the role will be based in our Dunkeswell facility in rural Devon, but after that hybrid working may be considered. It is highly likely that this role will involve regular overnight business trips around the UK.
