Studio Production Coordinator – Freelance

Your team: News Studios, our state-of-the-art production facilities at The News Building in London, enables the production of high quality video content for all of News UK’s brands – including The Times & The Sunday Times, The Sun, talkSPORT, Virgin Radio UK, Talk and Piers Morgan Uncensored.

Your role: The Studio Production Coordinator will support the Studio Production Manager and the broader team in all aspects of studio operations. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the broadcasting industry and develop their production skills.

Day to day you will:

  • Support the Studio Production Manager in scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating production activities.
  • Help maintain the studio environment, ensuring it is clean, organised, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Assist with the coordination of flexible casual/ freelance resources which can be scaled to meet the demands on the studio.
  • Prepare and distribute production schedules, call sheets, and other documentation.
  • Coordinate payments, expenses and invoices for studio operations, suppliers, and freelancers.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the studio environment, keeping the gallery and studio tidy at all times and ensuring appropriate communication between the crew.
  • Provide administrative support, including answering phones, managing emails, and organising files.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of studio equipment for productions.
  • Provide support on the studio floor for presenters and contributors, working with the crew to ensure productions run smoothly.
  • Run errands and perform other tasks to support the studio team.
  • Assist with troubleshooting technical issues during production.
  • Be adaptable and flexible with the willingness to work across multi-disciplines in the gallery and the studio.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of studio equipment and production processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Google Suite and other relevant software. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a studio environment.
