Astute’s Renewables team is partnering with a dynamic FTSE250 renewable energy provider, committed to professional development and sustainability, to recruit a Senior Project Engineer (Moorings/Subsea Construction) to be based in Aberdeen. The role comes with a salary up to £85,000 based on experience, excellent pension benefits, and flexible working arrangements. Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead technical responses for project tenders related to marine and subsea construction activities for permanent floating structures.
- Manage projects based on type and scale under the supervision of the Head of Projects.
- Deliver engineering deliverables for specific projects independently or in conjunction with internal and external resources.
- Develop operational procedures for offshore utilization, including step-by-step methodologies, rigging arrangements, equipment requirements, and lifting plans for marine and subsea construction activities associated with moorings and SURF.
- Develop mobilisation and demobilisation plans for installation and anchor handling vessels and supervise quayside activities.
- Create, maintain, and report on project schedules as required.
- Actively participate in HIRA and QHSE-related activities.
- Oversee offshore operations during execution phases to ensure adherence to procedures and guidelines.
Professional Qualifications
- A degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in marine or subsea construction (Moorings/SURF) for the energy industry, including oil and gas or renewables sectors.
- Experience in the design and installation of permanent mooring systems for units such as FPSOs, FSOs, FSUs, FWTs, CALM buoys, etc.
- Experience in developing offshore operational procedures for installation and subsea construction projects.
- Knowledge of Orcaflex is advantageous.
